December is here and everybody is getting ready to enjoy “the most wonderful time of the year”! While we’re all busy making plans for New Year’s Eve or planning Christmas shopping, we still have some time left to just go out and enjoy good music.

If you are a music lover, you probably love live concerts. And if you love live concerts, our friends from Reflektor Venue offer one of the best sounds in town. And they still have some plans for you this December: from rock legends to new-comers, you’re covered as far as attending good concerts is concerned.

Here’s what you can enjoy at Reflektor this December:

1st December: Celelalte Cuvinte Concert & Centennial Afterparty

Celelalte Cuvinte is one of the Romanian bands with the longest activity, having 35 years of quality rock music behind them. The band was formed back in 1977 in Oradea, while the band members were still in secondary school. After the three founding band members moved to Timisoara for studies, the band was expanded with two new band members. In 1981 the performed for the first time as “Celelalte Cuvinte”.

The concert will be followed by an after-party. It is called “Centennial” afterparty because our country is celebrating 100 years of being “big” Romania. Get your dancing shoes ready, because it will be that kind of a party: indie, rock n’ roll, hip & hoppy, metal, electronic, jazzy & poppy — you name it. Zoltan Varga will be the one helping out with the music.

3rd December: Shores of Null (black/gothic/doom metal ITA)

Reflektor Venue is known in town for hosting different kinds of concerts, pop-rock to black metal. And in Decembere they will be covering the latter gendre too.

Shores Of Null are a Rome-based metal band formed in 2013. Their music is a wistful-yet-powerful cascade of riffs, overwhelmingly heavy and soothing at the same time, trading off between gothic-doom vibes and blackened aggression, with epic melancholy-ridden vocal patterns.

5th December: Phoenix – Sinteza Rapsodia

Phoenix is one of the most famous Romanian bands ever. Every Romanian knows at least one of their songs. Though the band has taken “breaks” during their long career, they will be performing a new project at Reflektor this December.

The myth of the Phoenix celebrated 55 years in 2017. And Phoenix now returns to the audience with an innovatiove project: a synthesis of the Seasons and Rhapsody 1, emblematic for Romanian artist and legend George Enescu.

7th December: COMA, opening act: The Details

COMA is a Romanian alternative/rock/metal/hardcore band that is having fun in the Romanian rock scene since around the year 1999. The band formed around 1999, and so far they have released three albums “Somn” (2001), “Nerostitele” (2006) and “Coma Light” (2008).

Come will be introduced by opening act The Details, who’s passionate about reviving 60s music.

8th December: Altar

Altar is one of the oldest rock bands in Romania. Formed in 1991, it fast became a landmark for all the rock bands in Romania. They have performed at most of the festivals in Romania but also abroad. They are very political and they have a unique power in their songs.

15 dec Pinholes

Pinholes is the last planned concert for this year at Reflektor Venue. Pinholes is a  Romanian alternative rock band with influences that vary from post/art-rock to shoegaze and post-punk.

Wishing you all good music this December!
