Summer isn’t over yet! Though 2020 has been less “eventful” than previous years, starting August 28th you will allow you to quench your festival thirst with a 10-day outdoor festival: Flight Festival 2020.

Flight Festival 2020

Flight Festival is still a young festival in our area, as its first edition has taken place last year. Flight Festival 2020 will take place between August 28th and September 6th in 6 different locations in the city and near the city: Bastionul Theresia, Grădina de Vară a Filarmonicii Banatul, D’arc pe mal, Piața Sf. Gheorghe, Iulius Town, and Cioca Aerodrome.

The festival experience will include concerts, movies, technology-related activities, workshops for families and children, but also relaxation spots, and good food.

Flight Estival: Music

Most festivals include some music and some dancing and Flight Festival 2020 is no exception. Between September 4th and 6th, music-lovers will have a chance to hear Romanian bands like Carla’s Dreams, Irina Rimes, Grimus, Persona, Toulouse Lautrec, etc. The full lineup will be announced soon, on the festival’s event page

The concerts will take place at the Cioca Aerodrome in Timișoara, approximately 3 km away from the city. This is a vast outdoor space and a great setting for an outdoor festival. Tickets to the music festival can be purchased online, either on or

Due to the current situation, participation in the festival will be limited to 500 participants a day and all safety regulations will be ensured.

Sunlight Theatre at Flight Festival

An interesting development of Flight Festival 2020 is Sunlight Theatre, a new event powered by Flight Festival. This involves 3 days of performances and theatre talks.

All these activities will take place at Summer Garden of the Banat Phillarmonica between September 3rd and 5th. There will also be a maximum number of 350 participants per events and all safety measures will be thoroughly respected.

During Sunlight Theatre, you will be able to enjoy:

  • 5 performances by the theatre faculties of the most important university centers in the country;
  • 3 conferences/dialogues with well-known actors and directors (among which we name Maia Morgenstern, Marian Râlea, Pavel Bartoș, Alexandru Papadopol, etc.)
  • 3 gala performances in the interpretation of the above-mentioned artists.

You can find more information on the official event page and purchase tickets from the network.
